Hiram T Goldstone Senior
Mr. Goldstone founded the LocalTattler in 1967, initially envisioning it as Orinda's second most popular satirical news website. Many then thought of Hiram as a dreamer who would never accomplish anything. His grandmother was incredibly disappointed. Later, when DARPA created the internet, a key component of his vision came into play, and people started believing in Hiram's vision. He had a chance to be one of the early founders of Pay Pal, but he decided to keep his head down and keep his eye on the prize. Later, he was approached by Mark Zuckerberg to lead Facebook's acquisition of Instagram. He thanked Mark for his confidence but responded, "I feel like the market for providing daily humorous anecdotes about Orinda to a handful of local readers is a larger market than that of a platform that allows people to share pictures. I can see this as something that could be damaging to one's self-esteem. Especially for teens," stated Mr. Goldstone in an interview with Wired. Hiram left the LocalTattler after the incident, leaving his grandson. Hiram Goldstone III to lead organization. Per a legal settlement that remains sealed, Hiram Senior is restricted from entering the building or contacting any past or current employees. His vision serves as a North Star for the organization.
